Front frameCase, front
The front frame holds the panel in place and leaves a window for the picture.
7.3" color e-paper (Spectra 6)Screen
A 7.3 inch E Ink Spectra 6 panel, 800 by 480 pixels, in black, white, yellow, red, blue and green. Each refresh takes about 30 seconds and flashes.
ESP32-S3Chip
The ESP32-S3 runs Muse here, with 32 MB of flash and 8 MB of PSRAM. Images from Muse are dithered to the six inks on the device.
Temperature and humidity sensorSensor
A temperature and humidity sensor sits inside the case.
Main boardCircuit board
The main board inside the case. The E1001 and E1002 use the same board with different panels.
BatteryBattery
A built-in rechargeable battery. Seeed claims up to 3 months of battery life.
Green buttonButton
Muse uses the green button to confirm pairing. Hold it for 5 seconds to reset setup.
USB-C portPort
USB-C on the left edge for charging and flashing. A CH340 bridge makes it show up as /dev/cu.usbserial-* or /dev/ttyUSB*.
Back shellCase, back
The back has a hole for hanging it on a wall and nuts for the included stand.
Included standStand
The stand in the box screws into nuts on the back. With it, the frame is 53 mm deep.
