Parts
What's inside the Raspberry Pi 5
Simplified model. Outer size to scale; inside parts are approximate.
Circuit boardCircuit board
The Raspberry Pi 5 board, 85 by 56 mm. Muse uses it as a Linux gadget, so there is no screen or battery.
Broadcom BCM2712 processorChip
The Broadcom BCM2712: four Cortex-A76 cores at 2.4 GHz. It runs Raspberry Pi OS and the musegadget service. Anything Muse runs here runs with your account's permissions.
LPDDR4X memoryChip
LPDDR4X memory, from 1 GB to 16 GB depending on the model. Raspberry Pi raised Pi 5 prices in 2026 because of memory costs.
Wi-Fi and BluetoothRadio
Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 with BLE. Muse pairs with the Pi over Bluetooth LE. Pairing stays open for 10 minutes after install; sudo musegadget pair reopens it.

Micro HDMI port 0Port
A micro HDMI port for a display. Muse does not need a screen.
Micro HDMI port 1Port
The second micro HDMI port, so the Pi 5 can drive two displays.
